Hart House IV 2019

This was a debate tournament in the British Parliamentary debate format, the Hart House IV 2019 was held (or started on) 10/4/2019. I tried to write down all the motions from all the rounds, but if any of them are missing or are wrong, please contact me and I will change them.

Here are the motions:

Round 1: THR the increasing professionalization of youth athletics
Round 2: In cities with scarce housing availability This House Would reallocate funds intended for building or subsidizing affordable housing to providing the means for those in need to relocate to different cities with lower costs of living.
Round 3: This House Believes That that Western Nations should impose heavy penalties on domestic corporations that punish their employees for engaging in legally permitted speech.
Round 4: Assuming feasibility, This House Would distribute development aid to individual citizens rather than governments.
Round 5: This House Would have all settler colonial states (Canada, U.S., Australia, Mexico, Brazil, etc.) pay rent to their indigenous populations for all government-owned property.
Novice Final Motion: THP a world without a belief in life after death (heaven, reincarnation, past lives, hell, etc).
Open Quarter Final: Assuming neither standard is upheld in the status quo, This House Believes That society should aim towards becoming a meritocracy as opposed to a society where people are treated equally regardless of merit.
Open Semi Final Motion: In the aftermath of genocides, ethnic violence or crimes against humanity THO efforts to ban or suppress discussion of ethnicity and/or religion
Open Final Motion: This House Believes That all nations should take active steps to eliminate all borders.
